FINAL SET UP
WARNING
Failure to position the parts in accordance with all included
pictures, diagrams and drawings, or failure to use only parts
specifically approved with this appliance may result in property
damage or personal injury.
IMPORTANT
Cover the pilot and valve assembly, and for Liquid Propane
units, the air mixer at the side of the burner to protect it before
installing sand or rockwool mix and glowing embers.
IMPORTANT
Add a bead of silicon around outer edge of burner pan. See
Figure 6.
1. Pour the provided sand (Note: use rockwool mix for Liquid
Propane appliances) over the entire burner, filling the burner
pan. The sand (rockwool mix) should follow the slope of the
burner pan, covering the burner completely. See Figure 6.

IMPORTANT

2. Spread the Glowing Embers over the bottom portion of the
burner. See Figure 7.

WARNING
Apply loose material (embers and lava rock [cinders]) per
instruction manual. DO NOT apply extra material not supplied
with this appliance. All previously applied loose material (em
-
bers) must be removed prior to reapplication.
CAUTION
DO NOT place glowing embers, sand, rockwool mix, or lava
rock (cinders) in the area of the safety pilot assembly.
STOP!
Refer to the log set up instructions packaged with your Decora
-
tive Gas Logs.
3. Remove all contents from the Decorative Gas Log shipping
container (Box Two).
4. Check the contents of the shipping container against the
shipping and packing list or the parts list in this manual.
Report any missing or damaged parts to your retailer.
5. Remove any and all protective wrapping from the gas logs.
6. Arrange the decorative gas logs on the grate.
7. Place the Lava Rock (cinders) around the Grate/Burner As
-
sembly. See Figure 8.
8. DO NOT pack cinders around valve. The valve will overheat!
You must allow air flow around the valve.
