Setting DCF 77 time, date and calendar
After inserting the batteries, the clock automatically starts search for the DCF radio signal for
10 minutes.
Icon A4 will flash during the search for signal.
When DCF is successfully detected the current time and date is displayed with the icon A4.
The clock receives the DCF signal automatically every hour from 01:00 to 05:00.
DCF signal reception can be activated at any time by pressing and holding the B2 button.
Daylight saving time is indicated by DST icon.

Radio controlled clock – DCF 77
Radio controlled clock provides the most accurate time on the European continent. The radio
signal propagates via radio waves (77.5 kHz) from a site near Frankfurt in Germany within
a range of 1500 km. This radio time signal automatically takes account of the summer (DST) and
winter time, leap years and date changes. In normal conditions (at a safe distance from sources
of interference, such as television sets or computer monitors) the capture of time signal takes
several minutes. If the clock does not detect the signal, follow these steps:
1. Move the clock to another location and try to detect the DCF signal again.
2. Check the distance of the clock from the sources of interference, such as computer monitors
or television sets). The distance should be at least 1.5 to 2 m during the reception of the signal.
When receiving DCF signal, do not put the clock to the proximity of metal doors, window
frames and other metal structures or objects (washing machines, dryers, refrigerators etc.).
3. In reinforced concrete structures (cellars, high-rise buildings etc.), the DCF signal reception
is weaker, depending on the conditions. In extreme cases, place the clock close to a window
toward the transmitter.
Reception of the DCF 77 radio signal is affected by the following factors:
- thick walls and insulation, basements and cellars
- inadequate local geographical conditions (these are difficult to assess in advance
- atmospheric disturbances, thunderstorms
- appliances with no disturbance elimination
- television sets and computers placed near the DCF receiver
