Working pressures and back pressures
Trap Series 60Y and 60R are designed to
operate at maximum working pressure of
4 MPa, but they have been set to function
at maximum efficiency at pressures from
0.14 MPa to 3 MPa. When they operate in the
specified pressure range, the best results
will be obtained after carrying out the special
adjustments listed as follows:
1. When operating at pressures up to
0.14 MPa, loosen lock nut and turn control
cylinder stem 1½ to downwards.
2. When operating in the pressure range
3 MPa ~ 4 MPa, loosen lock nut and turn
control cylinder stem ¾ to upwards.
3. The traps have been preset to operate
back pressures of up to 40% of trap inlet
pressure. By turning the control cylinder
stem 1½ to downwards, they can operate
against back pressures up to 72%.

CAUTION
When following the above procedure, be sure
to make the adjustments after loosening the
lock nut. Use a screw driver to hold the control
cylinder stem in place. When tightening the lock
nut after completing the ad-justments, verify that
the stem is set firmly in position, since it may turn
together with the lock nut. Except when making
the above adjustments, be sure not to touch the
stem and lock nut.
Operating characteristics
Trap Series 60Y and 60R are extremely sensitive
to the generation of condensate, discharging
high-temperature condensate a little at a time.
When a big volume of condensate accumulates,
as for instance during starting, the trap
discharges continuously. With little volume, it
discharges intermittently.
