SI-Safety error types
SI-Safety makes a distinction between two types of error as shown in Table 9-1.

program runtime no longer possible due
to technical safety reasons.

Functional error caused by an external
process. Both systems continue running
in a cyclic manner to service all
requirements of the communication
interfaces. Scanning of the external
process is also maintained.

Encoder
supervision
(ECS) alarm
When using the ECS function, outputs
are not switched off when an encoder
alarm is triggered.
