Changing a level detector polling address
To activate multi-drop communication, the Rosemount 2140 or Rosemount 2140:SIS poll
address must be assigned a unique number from 1 to 15 for HART 5, or 1 to 63 for HART 7.
Each device in a multi-dropped loop must have a unique poll address.
Changing the polling address (Field Communicator)
1.
From the Home screen, select

2: Manual Setup

6: HART
>
2: Communication Settings

Change the polling address.
a.
In HART 5 mode, enter a polling address in the
1: Polling Address
screen.
b. In HART 7 mode, enter a polling address in the
2: Change Polling Address
screen.
Changing the polling address (AMS Device Manager)
1.
Right click on the device and select
Configure
.
2.
In HART 5 mode:
a.
Click on
Manual Setup
, select the
HART
tab.
b. In the Communication Settings box, enter a new polling address and click
Send
.
3.
In HART 7 mode:
a.
Click on
Manual Setup
, and then select the
HART
tab.
b. Click the
Change Polling Address
button.
4.
Carefully read the warning and click
Yes
if it is safe to apply the changes.
