Chapter 7 Troubleshooting
This section indicates various UPS symptoms a user may encounter and troubleshooting steps in the event the UPS
develops a problem. Use the following information to determine whether external factors caused the problem and
how to remedy the situation.
7.1 UPS Symptoms
The following symptoms indicate the Liebert GXT4 has malfunctions.
1. The fault indicator will be illuminated, and the LCD display panel will display the fault.
2. An alarm buzzer will sound, indicating that the UPS requires attention.
7.1.1 Indicator And LCD Display Panel
In addition to the fault indicator being illuminated, the LCD display panel will display the fault. The displayed fault on
the LCD display panel is described in Table 7-1.

the UPS will transfer to Bypass mode
Reduce the load and call customer service
Charger Out of Order
The charger is faulty
Call customer service
Fan Out of Order
At least one fan is faulty
Call customer service
DC Bus Discharge Fail
DCDC failure occurs
Call customer service
Note
If the UPS encounters a fault, and you do not perform any operation on it within two minutes, the LCD backlight will flash (on 1s
and off 1s) to remind you of the fault. You can press any button to exit the flash mode. If you still do not perform corresponding
operation on the UPS, the LCD backlight will flash again until you handle the UPS fault.
7.1.2 Audible Alarm
An audible alarm will be used in conjunction with the visual indicator to indicate to the user a change in UPS
operating status. The audible alarm will enunciate as given in Table 7-2.
