Open the Windows Device Manager, and double-click the Ports (COM &LPT) branch to determine the COM port assignment for the USB
connection (see
Figure 84
). The port number will be chosen from the drop-down list in the inControl Modal Configuration screen,

Also, double-click the COM port entry to open the port properties window. Set the baud rate as high as possible, but either 9600 , 19200 , or
38400 . Set parity to Even . Be sure that Stop Bits is 1 . Click OK to save changes.

will result in
inControl
not making a workable connection (see Figure 89 ).
Also, the heading on the Windows Port Properties window will reflect the connection medium. In this example case, a cable with a dongle was used, so the
connection shown is a UART Bridge, assigned to COM5.
