3 Installation
3.1 Safety messages

before installing, using, or maintaining this product.

• Make sure only qualified personnel perform the installation.

• Verify that the operating environment of the transmitter is consistent with the
appropriate hazardous locations certifications.
• Do not make or break connections to the Emerson 1410H while circuits are live unless
the area is known to be non-hazardous.
• Potential electrostatic charging hazard. Enclosure is a polymer, use care when handling
or cleaning.
Electrical shock can result in death or serious injury.
• Use extreme caution when making contact with the leads and terminals.
• If the device is installed in a high-voltage environment and a fault condition or
installation error occurs, high voltage may be present on transmitter leads and
terminals.

cleaning when in explosive environments to avoid an electrostatic discharge.
