About the CX700
CX700 storage systems support both 2-gigabit disk-array enclosures (DAE2s)
and 2-gigabit point-to-point disk-array enclosures (DAE2Ps).
A CX700 can support a total of 240 disks in a single disk-array storage
system. A four-loop configuration (with maximum performance and
availability) supports as many as 60 disks per back-end (BE) port; a
two-loop configuration can support 120 disks per back-end port.
You can place the DAE enclosures in the same cabinet as the CX700
SPE, or in one or more separate cabinets. The first DAE in a CX700
system requires high-performance Fibre Channel disk drives.
Additional DAEs can include either Fibre Channel or economical
ATA disks.
High-availability features are standard.
