12 elson BUSHPEX Pull-On
• Pipe support and clipping, both ver�cally and
horizontally is required to ensure conformance for
vibra�on, excessive tension, torsion or compressive
stresses on fi�ngs and pipe. Refer to Pipe Specifica�on
Chart for spacing.
•
Pipe penetra�ons through �mber and steel frames and
concrete sec�ons must conform and may require
protec�on using grommets, fire collars, sleeving or
wrapping. Holes, notches and cut-outs must be accurately
drilled “in-line” to allow movement for expansion and
contrac�on of the pipe and fi�ngs so joints are not
exposed to excessive stress. Refer to Pipe Specifica�on
Chart for �mber frame cut-out limita�ons.
• Pipe expansion and contrac�on needs to be
accommodated during installa�on to allow for
movement due to thermal Linear Expansion. Failure to
do so may exceed the torsional pull-out allowances on
fi�ngs resul�ng in leakage. Refer to the Pipe
Specifica�on Chart for the Thermal Expansion
Co-efficient.
• elson BUSHPEX pipe is flexible but requires care when
bending to avoid kinks or other permanent
deforma�on that may restrict flow or put undue
pressure on joints. If the pipe is kinked or damaged in
any way it must be cut-out and replaced. elson
BUSHPEX Pull-On elbows are recommended for �ght
bends.

bending radius and tools for bending.
