STEP 3
: Carefully mount fan cover over louver ring (Figure 4), and secure with (6) #8 x ½”self-tapping stainless
steel screws (supplied; Figure 5). You can now remove cardboard protection from Solar Panel. Use supplied roof
caulk to seal any loose shingles as well as areas where slits were cut, around the top and shingles over the flashing.
STEP 4:
Once your new Elite Solar Powered Attic Fan
has been installed, you may adjust the solar panel
(Figure 6) to receive the best direct sunlight for
optimal performance.
TILE ROOF INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove several tiles and follow instructions same as on
STEP 1 for Shingle Roof installation, then unroll/unfold aluminum skirt with EPDM
material and install over flashing (Figure 7). Cut and replace tiles according to local
roofing codes. Use supplied roof caulk to seal where needed and follow STEPS 2 and 3
of Shingle Roof instructions to complete installation.
FLAT ROOF INSTRUCTIONS:
When the hole is cut, apply two concentric beads of supplied roof caulking to underside of
flashing. Center flashing with hole and secure to roof with (8) #8 x 2” self-tapping stainless steel or corrosion resistant screws
(supplied). Apply a 4” reinforcement fabric and high quality roof mastic (not supplied) around perimeter of flashing to double
seal any potential water leaks. Finish installation by following STEPS 2 and 3 of Shingle Roof instructions.
