Class 1 Configuration

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

 

GREEN/YELLOW: EARTH (E)

BLUE: NEUTRAL (N)

BROWN: LIVE (L)

Configuration

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with

the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured GREEN & YELLOW (or coloured GREEN) must be connected

to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter “E” or by the earth symbol .

The wire which is coloured BLUE (or coloured BLACK) must be connected to the NEUTRAL

terminal which is marked with the letter “N”.

The wire which is coloured BROWN (or coloured RED) must be connected to the LIVE

terminal which is marked with the letter “L”.

Always ensure that the Mains Cord is fixed into the plug through the Cord Guard or Cable

Clamp, (plug wiring diagram above), and that the Cord Guard screws are tightened to clamp

the cord (outer sheath and inner coloured wires) into position in the plug. Make sure that

the plug top is also fitted securely.

This appliance must be protected by a 13Amp fuse in a 13 Amp type (BS1363) plug. Should

you need to replace the fuse, use only a 13Amp ASTA approved BS1362 fuse (13A).

OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES

It is important to ensure the correct Plug Adaptor is used when operating in a country not 

using the UK 13 Amp socket system. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

Do not use the appliance for 

purposes 

other than its intended use.

When unplugging turn any control to off, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.

Do not switch on the cooker if the ceramic pot is empty.

Allow the lid and pot to cool before immersing in water.

Do not use crock pot or lid if cracked or chipped.

The lid and ceramic pot are fragile. Handle them with care.

Do not attempt repairs - the appliance contains no user serviceable parts.

Repair should be done only by authorized personnel or fully qualified electrical engineers.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS

Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your house

electricity supply. 

If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with

this appliance the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted following the guide 

in the electrical section.

IMPORTANT:

 The plug removed from the mains lead, if severed, must be destroyed as a plug

with bared flexible cord is hazardous if engaged into a live socket outlet.

To protect against the risk of electrical shock do not put the base unit in water 

or in any other liquid.

Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or plug or if the appliance has

been dropped or damaged.

To avoid risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Incorrect

re-assembly can cause a risk of electric shock when used.

Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot food, water, or other 

hot liquids.

Never touch the outer enclosure of the unit during its operation or before it cools.

Use the handles or knobs. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use oven gloves or a cloth when removing 

the lid or handling hot containers.

Do not attempt to move the appliance whilst hot.

Do not switch on the appliance when it is upside down or laid on its side.

Never leave the appliance connected to the socket outlet when not in use, before putting on or 

taking off attachments, and before cleaning.
