Stereomicroscope vision system
The work area can be visualized via binocular stereoscopic microscope.
The vision system consists of an optical magnification system that allows the operator to focus on the laser target during welding
operations.
This type of optical microscope is designed to provide stereoscopic vision of an object.
In the binocular (Fig. 7-4), this is achieved via two distinct and differently aligned optical paths within the microscope, both of which
end with two lenses and two oculars.
These two optical paths offer the right and left eye images from different angulations.
The device consists of two articulated oculars. Each ocular features a ring for focusing ocular and for correcting any vision defects
(dioptric correction, Fig. 7-5).
The binocular is supplied with two (removable) blinkers, which can be applied to the oculars if the operator is wearing prescription
glasses.

A filter (an optical glass that becomes frosted at a laser wavelength of 1064 nm) is installed within the vision system (in the optical
tube).
This light grey and perfectly transparent filter becomes frosted at a laser wavelength of 1064 nm and therefore blocks entry in the
oculars of the laser radiation generated by the source (Fig. 7-6)
