Both ends of the optical cable are terminated in the
same way. Please follow the steps below.
1) Use a razor blade (a very sharp knife will do) to
cut the cable at a right angle to the length of the
cable. Make the cut as close to 90
O
as possible.
2) Place the polishing paper on a work bench or
other flat surface, and apply a few drops of water
or oil to it. Hold the cable at a right angle to the
polishing paper and polish the end that was just
cut. The cable should not flex while polishing.
To avoid flexing, clamp the cable between the
two PC boards with only a small length of the
cable extending beyond the edge of the PC
board.
3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other end.
4) Mount the two ends of the cable to the two
connectors on the transmitter and receiver PC
board as shown in the figure.
