CLEANING AND CARE
Avoid the effects of moisture (spray or rain water), dust as well as direct insolation on the
device. Clean the device exclusively with a dry linen cloth; in case of heavy dirt accumulation,
it may be slightly moistened. Do not use any detergents containing solvents.
GENERAL
Elektrotechnik Schabus GmbH & Co. KG is not liable for damages and/or losses of any kind
such as individual damages or consequential damages brought about by the gas detector not
issuing an alarm despite the presence of an elevated gas concentration.
For your own safety and reassurance, we recommend that you carry out
this test every month!
Regularly clean the sensor by blowing off any dust.
WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF ALARM (or if you smell gas)
•
Do not unplug the alarm unit
•
Do not switch on any other electrical devices or appliances
•
Do not ignite any open flame, turn off any open flame already lit
•
Immediately open windows and doors and thoroughly ventilate the area or house
•
Turn off the main gas feed and ensure that the cause of the gas escape is eliminated
•
In the event of persistent/repeated alarm, contact your energy supply expert/adviser or
the fire service.
FALSE ALARM
The sensitive system sensor also responds to other gaseous media. The use of aerosols (gas
propellant in hair, disinfectant, alcohol etc. sprays), as well as strong tobacco fumes (smoking
card party) can lead to a false alarm.
The sensor is also sensitive to rapidly changing environmental conditions, be it humidity,
temperature fluctuations or draughts.
FUNCTIONAL TEST
A simple functional test of the sensor can be carried out with butane gas from a cigarette
lighter. A burst of gas without striking the igniter will trigger the alarm. For further information,
consult the
operation instructions of the alarm unit.
Only use commercially available pressure-reduced lighters and never use pure gas from refill
bottles or cartridges, as this would immediately destroy the sensor.
The date (month/year) is at the sensor for the next sensor examination.
Please send the sensor to us for the work examination.
