Fault codes SA-FO are diagnosed and displayed during normal refrigerator operation.
Fault codes F1-FB are diagnosed and displayed during the self-test only.
The following faults cannot be detected by the electronic during self-testing:
-
defective refrigeration fan (blocked impeller, broken winding...)
-
defective compensation heating
11. Further hints for fault diagnosis
A magnetic valve that is not switched can be recognised by the fact that the refrigeration
temperature falls considerably. After some time, the refrigerator temperature display shows
0
o
C. The low refrigerator temperatures which lie outside the adjustable range are caused by
the longfresh compartment receiving first priority in automatic control technology. The
required temperature within the longfresh compartment is reached very slowly as both
shelves are cooled. The condenser therefore operates for a considerable period of time and
the refrigerator is therefore being excessively cooled.
A permanently switched magnetic valve or a jammed magnetic valve is also indicated by icing-
up of the refrigeration compressor suction pipe (with drip tray). In the case of this fault, the
longfresh compartment only is being cooled; however, as the amount of coolant is calculated
for both refrigerator and longfresh compartment, this inevitably leads to symptoms of
overfilling.
