1. Plug the power cable into a  

power outlet. 

The thermostat indicator light (H) turns 
on ‘orange’. It will turn ‘Green’ once the 
temperature selected is reached, meaning 
the iron is ready to use.

2. Adjust steam and temperature 

settings for the models without the 

Autosteam function (ESI710 / ESI730).

Set the Temperature selector (K) according 
to the fabric type by referring to the 
settings table below. Then adjust the 
steam output by setting the Variable 
steam knob (G) according to the fabric 
type by referring to the settings table.

Tips:

 Setting the right temperature:  

Check the laundry care label for the  
fabric type. If you select a lower 
temperature setting whilst in use, wait  
for a few minutes before ironing to make 
sure the iron has cooled down. Setting the 
right amount of steam: Always make sure 
that the steam setting selected is suitable 
for the temperature set and fabric type. 
The iron is equipped with an anti-drip 
device to prevent water from dripping  
out of the soleplate when the temperature 
selected is too low. For ‘Dry ironing’ set  
the Variable steam knob (G) to the 
position “off”.

3. Adjust the ironing settings for the 

models equipped with the Autosteam 

function (ESI750).

The Autosteam function regulates 
the steam amount according to the 
temperature set. Set the Temperature 
selector (K) according to the fabric type 
by referring to the table below, the steam 
output will be automatically adjusted to 
deliver the most effective combination for 
the type of fabric selected.

the laundry care label for the fabric type. 
If you select a lower temperature setting 
whilst in use, wait for a few minutes 
before ironing to make sure the iron has 
cooled down.The iron is equipped with

For ‘Dry ironing’ press down the On/off 
steam control (G). To come back to steam 
function, press again the button.

following advice will help you to use 

your new iron safely.

•   This appliance is not intended for use 

by persons (including children) with 
reduced physical, sensory or mental 
capabilities, or lack of experience 
and knowledge, unless they have 
been given supervision or instruction 
concerning use of the appliance by a 
person responsible for their safety.

•   Children should be supervised to 

ensure that they do not play with the 
appliance.

•   The appliance should only be 

connected to the power supply if its 
voltage and frequency match that 
indicated on the rating label.

•   The appliance must only be connected 

to an earthed wall socket.

•   The iron is not to be used if it has been 

dropped, if there are visible signs of 
damage to the plug, mains cord or the 
appliance itself, or if it is leaking.

•   If the appliance or the supply cord 

is damaged, it must be replaced by 
the manufacturer, its service agent or 
similarly qualified person, in order to 
avoid hazard.

•   The iron must be used and rested on a 

stable surface.

•   Never leave the appliance unattended 

while connected to the supply mains.

•   The mains cable must not come into 

contact with any hot parts of the 
appliance.

•   The appliance must be switched off 

and the mains plug disconnected from 
the socket outlet after each use, and 
before cleaning and maintenance.

•   The soleplate of the iron and nearby 

surfaces can become extremely hot 
and may cause burns if touched. Please 
be especially careful when handling 
the iron after use, or when re-filling the 
water reservoir during use.

•   The plug must be removed from the 

socket outlet before the water reservoir 
is filled with water.

•   Do not immerse the iron in water or 

any other liquid.

•   Do not exceed the maximum filling 

volume as indicated on the iron.

•   The filling aperture must not be 

opened during use.

•   This appliance is intended for 

household use only.

Getting Started

1. Before first use.

Remove all adhesive and gently rub 

with a dampened cloth before plugging 

in the iron.
We recommend that you rinse the 

water tank by operating the steam in a 

horizontal position away from your linen 

for one minute. When the iron is turned 

on for the first time, harmless vapours/

odours may be emitted temporarily. 

This will cease quickly.

2. Filling the water tank.

Make sure the iron is unplugged.

Set the variable steam knob (G) to position 
“off” (for models ESI710/ESI730) or set the 
Temperature selector (K) to position 0 (for 
model ESI730). Open the filling aperture 
cover. Using the beaker provided, pour 
water up to maximum level. Do not exceed 
the maximum filling volume as indicated 
on the iron. Close the cover until it clicks.

3. Type of water to be used:

This iron has been designed to use normal 
tap water. If the tap water in your area is 
very hard, you can fill the tank with 50% 
tap water and 50% bottled distilled water. 
Never use distilled water only. Never put 
scented water, vinegar or ironing aids in 
the water tank. This may cause brown 
spitting and staining.
