MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance before carrying out any
maintenance operation.

Warning

This appliance contains hydrocarbons in its cooling
unit; maintenance and recharging must therefore only
be carried out by authorized technicians.

Internal cleaning

Never use metal objects for cleaning your appliance
as it may get damaged.
Clean the inside and accessories of the refrigerating
compartment with warm water and sodium bicarbo-
nate (one tablespoon in 4 litres of water). Rinse and
dry thoroughly.
Clean the inside of the freezer compartment after
each complete defrosting.

External cleaning

Wash the outer cabinet with warm soapy water.
Do not use abrasive products.
Once or twice a year dust the condenser (black grill)
and compressor at the back of the appliance with a
brush or vacuum cleaner. An accumulation of dust will
affect the performance of the appliance and cause ex-
cessive electricity consumption.

Periods of non-operation

When the appliance is not in use for long periods, dis-
connect from the mains, empty and clean, leaving the
door ajar to prevent unpleasant smells.

Interior light

To access the bulb, unscrew the screw, depress the
removable part with your fingers as shown in the fig-
ure, and pull it out.

The rating is shown on the light bulb cover.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

What to do if the appliance is not function-
ing properly.

If something is not working properly, check that:

the plug is firmly in the wall socket and the mains
power switch is on;

there is an electricity supply (find out by plugging in
another appliance);

the thermostat knob is in the correct position.

If the appliance seems too noisy, check that the sides
are not touching furniture that can transmit or amplify
a noise or a vibration. Also, check that the piping of
the refrigerant system does not vibrate.

If there are water drops on the bottom of the cabinet,
check that the defrost water drain opening is not ob-
structed.

If your appliance is still not working properly after
making the above checks, contact the nearest service
centre.
To obtain fast service, it is essential that when you ap-
ply for it you specify the model & serial number of your
appliance which can be found on the rating plate.
