4 DELETING DATA

In the event of an anomalous or accidental reading (usually causing the coefficient of variation to become
unexpectedly high) the last value stored can be deleted. This is achieved by pressing the DELETE button.
The unit will automatically recalculate all the statistical information of the remaining data, and the previous
reading will be displayed. Repeatedly pressing the DELETE button will progressively remove data from
memory in reverse order to that in which it was stored.
To delete ALL of the readings stored in memory, for the displayed angle only, in a single operation, use the
Reset function:
1. Press 2nd/RESET.
2. Display shows ‘

ARE YOU SURE? PRESS YELLOW BUTTON

’.

3. Press the yellow button to confirm reset, any other button to reject.

5 STATISTICS

Your Elcometer 402 Novo-Gloss™ Glossmeter is capable of storing up to 200 readings per angle in its
internal  memory.  The  gauge  can  display  a  statistical  analysis  of  these  readings,  including  minimum,
maximum, mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation of stored readings.

5.1 Viewing statistics

The coefficient of variation of the readings for the selected angle is always displayed as readings are taken
(See “The display” on page 9). To view the other statistics for the selected angle, press and hold the yellow
STATS button for about 1 second. The gauge will then display the Angle, Minimum reading (MIN) and
