8. TROUBLESHOOTING
If the EickView HD is visible damaged, does not work as expected, or detects abnormalities during inspection, do not use the
EickView HD. Contact EICKEMEYER®.
Some issues that appear to be malfunctioning may be resolved by reference to Section 8.1 “Troubleshooting Guide”. If the
following action does not resolve the problem, stop using the EickView HD and send it to EICKEMEYER® for repair.
Warning!
Never use the EickView HD if there is a suspicion of an anomaly. The animal or the operator can be seriously or
fatally injured.
8.1 Troubleshooting Guide
The following table shows the possible causes of malfunctions. Other than the malfunctions listed in the following table
must be repaired by EICKEMEYER®.
If maintenance is performed by someone other than EICKEMEYER® authorized personnel, accidents can occur. Have the
EickView HD serviced according to the instructions in Section 8.2 “Return the EickView HD for repair”.
Warning!
If an anomaly is suspected, turn the EickView HD off and on again. If the abnormality can not be resolved, turn off
the EickView HD and unplug the power cord to completely stop the fl ow of current.
Description of the Problem
Possible Reason
Solution
The endoscope cannot be connected to
the EickView HD.
The endoscope is not compatible to the
video processor.
Connect the correct endoscope
(see Appendix A2).
The EickView HD cannot be turned on.
The power supply cable is not
connected.
Connect the device to a power outlet as
described.
The power switch is not turned on.
Turn on the power switch.
One or more fuses are defective.
Replace both fuses (see Appendix A1).
The endoscopic image does not appear
on the monitor.
The signal source of the monitor is
incorrect.
Set the correct signal source as
described in the manual of the monitor.
The endoscope is not connected
(coloured stripes visible).
Connect an endoscope as described in
this manual.
The monitor cable is not connected.
Connect the monitor cable as described.
The video processor is not turned on.
Turn on the video processor.
The endoscopic image does not appear
on the computer.
No or the wrong signal source is set in
the software.
Set the correct signal source
(see Chapter 6.5 Software).
The endoscope is not connected
(coloured stripes visible).
Connect an endoscope like described in
this manual.
The USB cable is not connected.
Connect the USB cable as described.
The USB cable is not connected to an
USB 3.0 port.
Connect the USB cable as described.
The driver is installed incorrectly.
Install the driver again.
The USB cable is defective.
Replace the USB cable.
The video capture card is defective.
