In-line Finishing
Pro 32r Operations Guide

The slitter is an in-line finishing device that cuts away any unwanted media (such as side margins) during the printing
process. This feature is purely mechanical and is independent of any electrical or pneumatic processes. The blade cuts
the media in the Y-axis, as it advances through the printer.
Figure 8-1
The slitter includes a metal body, a blade retractor, a safety pin, and a fastening handle. The slitter is designed to be manually placed any-
where on the front beam, facing the printer. It does not disturb the carriage movement and cannot damage the tension roller. The protru-
sion on the blade’s arm prevents the blade from damaging the tension roller. Raising the roller pushes the blade back to its docking position.
There are two types of slitters:
•
Single Bladed
•
Double Bladed – Two blades, 8 mm apart.

taken when handling them. You must keep the blades retracted
when not in use!
