TROUBLESHOOTING

The majority of the faults that can occur
are a direct consequence of poor pellet
quality, handling or storage. Therefore you
must check your deliveries carefully, prefer-
ably before you accept them.
Remember that it is for your safety that the
boiler is pre-programmed to stop and send
an alarm if it cannot rectify the fault. If a
fault occurs, always make a visual check of
the combustion bowl and the combustion
chamber.

FAULT: No text on the display.

CHECK: That the mains switch is on and
that the main fuse in the house fuse box is
intact.

ACTION: Switch the mains switch on or
replace the faulty fuse in the fuse box.
NOTE: Switch off  the mains switch when
you replace the fuse. If the fault remains,
contact the installation engineer.

Alarm message:  * Hot stoker *

CHECK: Whether the resettable thermal
contact has triggered.

ACTION: Press the button on the top of the
thermal contact. The alarm message will
disappear.

ACTION: Replace the blades on the sluice
feeder if they are discoloured or mis-
shapen.

ACTION: Check that the fl ue damper is fully
open and that the boiler fl ues are free of fl y
ash.

ACTION: Check that the back-draught
hatch is not stuck. The underpressure
should be between 10 and 20 Pa to allow
the burner to operate as effi

  ciently as pos-

sible.

Alarm message: *Safety alarm
Alt. 1 Hot boiler*

CHECK: Whether the boiler's maximum ther-
mostat has triggered.

ACTION: Reset the button on the boiler's
maximum thermostat and restart the system.
A common cause is burning wood in combi-
nation with pellets.
Check that there is enough water pressure in
the boiler and/or if there is trapped air from
the heating circuit in the boiler. Release any
air as this also can cause the sensor to say Hot
boiler. Replace faulty air vent.

Alarm message: *Safety alarm
Alt. 2 Error connection*

CHECK: Is the burner correctly fi tted and is
the micro-switch aff ected by the guide pin in
the boilers connection plate

Action: Fit the burner and/or adjust/replace
the micro-switch.

Alarm message: * No flame *

The burner has been stopped because the
optical sensor has not detected any light in
the combustion chamber while the burner is
operating.

CHECK: That the optical sensor or the optical
sensor pipe is not sooty or partically blocked
with ash particles and therefore cannot
detect the light.

ACTION: Clean the optical sensor. If the
burner is installed correctly, the optical sen-
sor should not become clogged with soot be-
tween normal services. If there is an air leak, if
the surface of the combustion chamber is too
cold or if there is a poor supply of air to the
boiler room, this can cause poor drafting in
the boiler chamber itself and can cause soot
to form. Resolve the problem as soon as pos-
sible. If the burner is incorrectly installed,
