Before you start
8. Keep chain properly tensioned at all times.
9. Connect spark plug cap.
Lubricating the guide bar and saw chain
1. Wipe debris from around oil fill cap.
2. Remove oil fill cap and fill reservoir with a quality, low viscos-
ity guide bar and saw chain oil.
Adjusting the shoulder harness
1. Hook the strap hook to the hanger on the outer tube.
2. Wear the shoulder strap so that the hook stays at your right
hand side.
3. Adjust the length of the shoulder strap so that you can hold
and operate the machine comfortably.
The shoulder harness is fitted with an emergency release
function. In case of emergency, pull up on the collar (A) to dis-
connect the machine from the strap.

IMPORTANT
Tighten gearcase cover nuts to 8 - 9 N·m (71 - 80 in. lbs.)
Do not over-tighten nuts. Damage may result.
NOTE
All chains require frequent adjustment.
NOTE
The discharge volume of the automatic oiler is preset to de-
liver 3 to 4 ml/min. at normal operating RPM. During heavy
or dry cutting conditions the oil discharge volume may be
adjusted to assure adequate lubrication. Refill the oil reser-
voir with each tank of fuel.
IMPORTANT
To prevent plastic deterioration, do not use synthetic or sili-
cone based oil.
IMPORTANT
Make sure all hooks and adjustment devices are secure.
