8.1.1.3.
Firmware Change Code
This option protects the device against unauthorized remote update of the firmware
(eg by OSM monitoring station via Ethernet or GPRS). After enabling this option, a
field for entering the code (from 4 to 7 digits long) will appear. This code have to be
entered during the remote software update.
NOTE!
This code must be different from the service code and the installer.
8.1.1.4.
Device Monitoring Code
This code allows to encrypt the monitoring of the transmitter's status. Setting the
monitor code should go hand in hand with selecting the "Monitoring data is
encrypted" option on the Device monitor tab (see chapter 8.11.1). If this code has
been set in the device and the Device Monitor is started without a code, the status
monitoring cannot be started.
8.1.1.5.
SIM Card PIN
As a device operates via GSM network, SIM card is indispensable and it may be
received from phone operator. Before the first use PIN code of SIM card shall be
programmed for operation in given transmitter. PIN code is indispensable for
automatic system launching. In case of card without PIN code, it is possible to enter
any value e.g. 0000.
If you enter wrong PIN number after inserting card and switching on transmitter, the
system will not launch and you may be able to use card after entering PUK card only
(with use of any GSM mobile phone).
Factory setting of PIN in transmitter is
1111
.
8.1.1.6.
Option: Embedded HTTP server
Selecting this option allows to configure the basic parameters for the EPX400
connection to the server through a Web browser. The method of this configuration is
described in chapter "6. Pre-configuration via Ethernet port"
NOTE: To avoid unauthorized tampering with the device, the manufacturer
recommends that you disable this option when you install the GPRS Transmitter
Configurator (This option is factory-set on).
8.1.1.7.
Communication parameters lock
After checking that option resetting to default settings and changing:
• service code (ATS),
server phone number,
primary server address
backup server address
• Ethernet parameters (address, mask, gate)
• APN, user ID, user password
• primary server port
• secondary server port
• SMS encryption key
• GPRS encryption key
• DNS server addresses

turning on/off “Communication settings lock” option
