DANGER
Mechanical installation should be performed first before electrical hookup.

Make sure that the cables are de-energized.

Secure against renewed switch-on of the operating voltage.

Never work on live parts.
6.1 Cleaning
To ensure a long service life, check the drives regularly for proper operation and soiling. The frequency of checking is to be
adapted accordingly depending on the degree of soiling. When cleaning the drives, damage or malfunction may occur due to:
• Cleaning with a water jet or high-pressure cleaner.
• Using cleaning agents containing acids, alkalis, or solvents.
• Using pointed and sharp-edged objects.
6.2 Maintenance and repair
• The operating electronics/drives are maintenance-free over the expected service life.
• Lubrication of the bearings and geared parts is classed as lifetime lubrication taking into account the operating conditions
specified by ebm-papst.
• Only allow repairs to the product to carried out by specialist personnel or ebm-papst.
6.3 Disposal
Environmental protection and resource conservation are top-priority corporate goals of ebm-papst. ebm-papst operated an
environmental management system which is certified in accordance with ISO 14001 and rigorously implemented around the
world on the basis of German standards.
Right from the development stage, environmentally friendly design, technical safety, and health protection are essential
prerequisites.

Country-specific legal requirements
Always observe the applicable country-specific legal regulations with regard to the disposal of the drive or
waste occurring in the various phases of the lifecycle. The corresponding disposal standards must also be
observed.
6.3.1
Disassembly
Disassembly of the drive must be performed or supervised by authorized specialist personnel with the appropriate technical
knowledge (see “2.5 Personnel qualifications” on page 7). The drive is to be disassembled into suitable individual compo-
nents for disposal in accordance with standard procedures for motors.
