while the upright seating position makes it comfortable for every age and rider.
2. How does it work?
An Ebikes4Africa e-bike is like a normal bicycle, but with an electric motor and a battery. The battery
provides electric energy to the motor to support the cyclist. As soon as the cyclist starts to pedal, the
motor starts to turn the back wheel at a level in accordance with the support level on the display.
Quick Start:
● Slide battery into holder and lock
● Switch on the display by pressing the on/off button on the handlebar. Keep pressed for at least
3 seconds
● Choose support level with arrow buttons
● You can now begin to cycle and the motor will provide support as soon as the rider starts to
pedal
The battery has a key to secure it to the frame. To remove the battery, make sure to unlock the key
first. The battery can be charged after every tour, as there is NO memory effect. The battery level is
indicated on the display (45Volt = empty; 54Volt = fully charged). The battery can stay on the frame
while charging.
Good to Know:
● Pulling the brakes will interrupt the motor and stop it from working.
● Do not pedal and brake at the same time!
3. Service and Maintenance
Before and after every ride make sure:
● Battery level is above 52 volts
● Brakes are working
● Back wheel and axle nuts are secured
● Batteries are in the correct position
● Maintain the right tyre pressure (0.6-1bar for Fatbikes, 2-3bar for MTBs)
● Pedals and cranks are secured
● Front wheel quick release are secured
● Stem and handlebars are secured
