Function checks
6.1
General information
This section describes the checks and settings carried out on the
heater and its components in installed and uninstalled state.
6.2
Heater supply cable / extension

Check earth connection of installation cable.
n
Check installation cable connections; insert again securely
or replace installation cable, as necessary.
n
Check extension cable connections; insert again securely or
replace extension cable, as necessary.
6.3
Function check in the vehicle
Check the following points:
1.
Set the vehicle fan:
– Set the fan speed of the vehicle fan (see vehicle owner’s
operating instructions).
2.
Check the fresh air inlet:
– This should be continuous.
– This must be free of foreign objects (snow, leaves etc.)
(replace pollen and dust filter if necessary).
3.
Check coolant circuit:
– Bleed in accordance with vehicle manufacturer's spe-
cifications.
4.
Switch on the eThermo Top Eco 20 P | 30 P
– The coolant pump should run. This can be checked by
listening.
– The vehicle fan is generally activated by the eThermo
Top Eco 20 P | 30 P after the heater is switched on.
5.
Check heating action:
– Heater is switched on and heats up
– Check heating action at the outflow nozzles of the
vehicle fan (depending on outside temperature, approx.
20 minutes after switching on).
6.4
Activation of vehicle blower
Check wiring of vehicle fan for damage, break and short-circuit,
see „chapter 10 .

Check fuse

Check vehicle fan relay
u
Check switch signal at the relay, ground and voltage (aud-
ible)
NOTE
If there is a malfunction of the vehicle fan, please refer
to the vehicle manual.
6.4.1
Fan relay
Check connections to the extension cable and installation cable.
Replace cable or fan relay if necessary.
6.5
Checking coolant pump

Check coolant temperature.
u
Function check (listen for operation).
u
Check cable connection and installation position.
