How to Remove the Oil Pump
Special Instructions
The oil pump gear can be removed while removing the
torque converter housing.
The oil pump is a non-serviceable assembly and
should be returned for service.
The converter and converter housing must be
removed before removing the oil pump gear.
Special Tools
Typical service mechanic tools are needed
To Remove
1.
From the oil pump gear, remove the retaining nut.
Use a screwdriver to keep the gear from moving.
2.
Remove the oil pump drive gear.
3.
Remove the two (2) pump mounting capscrews.
4.
Use the two (2) capscrews previously removed
and insert them into the pump to lift the pump.
5.
Remove the oil pump.
6.
Remove the oil pump O-ring.
7.
Inspect the snap ring, remove if damaged.
8.
Remove the O-ring in the torque converter
housing oil pump bore.
