Table 2:

switching on with a new number of SmartWire-DT
slaves
During address assignment the SmartWire-DT gateway
determines which and how many SmartWire-DT slaves are
connected to the SmartWire-DT network (actual configura-
tion). According to their positions in the SmartWire-DT
network it assigns addresses to the stations in a continuous
ascending sequence. It assigns address 1 to the SmartWire-
DT slave closest to it and continues up to 99.
The SmartWire-DT gateway saves the actual configuration as
a new target configuration. This saved target configuration
then serves as a reference for each startup.
The SmartWire-DT gateway’s LED signals the end of auto-
matic address assignment as follows:
Table 3:

assignment is completed
The SmartWire-DT gateway now waits for the
project
configuration
from the field bus master.
If the configuration for the overriding field bus master (the
project configuration) in terms of the number and part no. of
SmartWire-DT slaves agrees with the target configuration in
the SmartWire-DT gateway and has been transferred to the
SmartWire-DT gateway, the data interchange can already
commence.
