Configuration Instructions
Obtain the IP of the Laptop / Desktop PC used for monitoring BACnet.
•
Launch Windows
•
Click “Start” button
•
Click “All Programs”
•
Click “Accessories”
•
Click “Command Prompt” wait for the command window to open.
•
Type “ipconfig” then press enter.
•
Make a note of the “IP Address”
•
Close the command window.
Configuring EC650C
•
Click “Start” button
•
Click “All Program”
•
Click “Accessories”
•
Click “Communications”
•
Click “HyperTerminal” (if you are running Windows 7 then HyperTerminal will need to be downloaded from the
Internet)
•
At the “Connection Description” window enter a name, i.e. EC650C, then click OK.
•
At the “Connect To” window select the COM port for the PC serial port.
•
At the “COM # Properties” window select the following settings then click OK.
•
a) Baud Rate = 38400
•
b) Data Bits = 8
•
c) Parity = None
•
d) Stop Bits = 1
•
e) Flow Control = None
•
Press “Enter” key to display the configuration menu of the EC650C.
•
Press “5” key to open the IP configuration menu.
•
Press “2” key to open the IP address entry screen.
•
Enter the IP address of the Laptop/Desktop PC changing the last 3 digits to a different number, for example if the IP
address of the Laptop is 192.168.24.1 set the IP address of the EC650C to 192.168.24.100.
•
Press the “x” key to save the settings and return to the configuration menu.
•
Press the “0” (zero) key to reset the EC650C.
•
Close HyperTerminal
The EC650C has all other parameters pre-set by the Supplier at manufacture.
