31. Remove the bearing
plate and two dowel
pins from the cylinder
barrel.
Note:
If using a small
screwdriver or similar
tool to pry the bearing
plate from the cylin-
der barrel, be careful
not to scratch or
damage the lapped
surfaces of the
cylinder barrel or
bearing plate.
Shown are the valve plate
(left) and bi-metal bearing
plate (right). Bearing
plates are bi-directional
and valve plates are uni-
directional.
32. Remove the hold-
down springs and
washers.
33. Install a low clear-
ance, split-type bear-
ing puller under the
rear bearing.
Note:
See the special
tool section for
dimensions required
to make a low
clearance bearing
puller.
34. Install the puller on
the bearing puller. DO
NOT REMOVE THE
BEARING AT THIS
TIME. Use the puller
handle to remove the
pump drive shaft,
swashplate and
rotating group from
the pump housing.
36. Remove the rear
bearing by using the
bearing puller that
was previously
installed.
Rotating Group Removal
37. Carefully slide the
swashplate and
rotating group up and
over the pump shaft
subassembly.
Disassembly
35. Properly support
the rotating group
using a ridge
mounted shaft
coupling or soft
jaw device to
secure the input
end of drive shaft
inverted position.
Remove the slide
block from the
swashplate.
CAUTION: Do not damage bearing
or sealing surfaces
