·
The normal relay closes certain contacts while
opening others. This starts the return to the normal
power source and normal transfer switch operation.
·
During this sequence, the normal power source
switch is closed and the emergency power source
switch is opened. This completes the make before
break transfer.
·
Simultaneously, the normal relay initiates the shut
down of the engine driven generator.
·
Transfer of the load back to the normal power
source is now complete.
Test Mode
A test begins when either the “TEST” button is used or
when the plant exerciser (if available) initiates a test.
·
The engine start contact is closed signaling the gen-
erator to start.
·
When the emergency power source voltage reaches
its operating range and the intelligence determines
the sources are in phase, the transfer begins. This
operating sequence closes the emergency switching
device then opens the normal switching device.
