Refer to Figure 1. Pass the phase conductors through the CT window. If the neutral conductor is
carrying single phase current, it is to be passed through the window. Do not pass ground conductors
through the CT window. In applications that require shielded wires to pass through the CT window,
return the shields through the CT window before connecting them to ground.
Verify that the polarity of the conductors is correct when they pass through the CT. Verify that ground
paths do not exist that would bypass the CT.
The D64RPY2 Trip Level is 500 milliamps. The maximum continuous primary phase current is to be
200 Amps.

CONNECTIONS
All connections to the D64RPY2 are by means of color coded wire leads.
Note
:
The Blue and Purple wire leads are NOT isolated from the control voltage.
Connect 24 Volt ac control power to the Black (+) and White (Neutral -) wire leads. Observe polarity.
In order to meet the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements a chassis bond is required
between the White (Neutral -) and the nearest ground point. This distance should be kept to an
absolute minimum. If the D64RPY2 mounting bracket is mounted on a grounded surface, one of the
mounting screws could serve as the chassis ground point.
Refer to Figure 1 and Table 1. Decide on the connection of field devices to control voltage and output
relay contact wire leads by comparing the desired control of the field devices under various operating
conditions.
Figure 1 shows the D64RPY2 using its built-in current transformer and a typical connection of a circuit
breaker with a shunt trip coil (ST). A remote Test button with N.O. contacts is connected to the Blue
and Purple wire leads. Comparing the operating mode and the relay contact states in Table 1, it can be
seen that the N.O. contact, Red wire lead, would be used for 24 Vac power to trip the shunt trip coil via
the Yellow wire lead in the event of a ground fault. The D64RPY2 will reset automatically 20
milliseconds after the ground fault current is interrupted by the tripping action of the circuit breaker. .
The N.C. contact, Brown wire, would be used for the 24 Vac power from the Fire Fuel Shutoff circuit
(same control power source) to trip the shunt trip coil via the yellow wire lead in the event of a call for
shutoff by the central command. This would have no impact on the operation of the D64RPY2.
