SelectComm module installation
Note:
The power to the control must be off when installing
or removing SelectComm Modules.
To install either a serial or an Ethernet SelectComm module
in a CBC-8000 control:
1.
Open the door of the control.
2.
Press the
MANUAL
button to place the control in
Manual mode. The control should remain in Manual
mode while on site. This prevents the control from
operating on remote commands or local metrics while
personnel are near the capacitor banks.
3.
Remove power from the control.
4.
Remove the two screws that attach the upper blank
cover to the front panel as shown in Figure 39. Save the
#6 (M2.9) sheet metal screws.
5.
Remove the blank cover.
6.
Insert the SelectComm module into the opening and
gently push the module into the connector until it is
firmly seated.
7.
Insert each of the #6 (M2.9) sheet metal screws and
tighten.
8.
Apply power to the control.
9.
The control will automatically detect that a SelectComm
module was installed into the connector and the
firmware will allow communications through the
module.
10. When the work is completed, place the control in
Remote or Automatic mode by pressing the
REMOTE
or
AUTO
button.
11. Close the door of the control.
12. Secure the latches.

Insert the SelectComm module and firmly
seat the module into the connector. Secure
the module with two screws.
