with an axial locking device. The axial locking
device restricts the relative axial motion between
the driving and driven shafts. This arrangement is
typically used where a synchronous motor armature
with plain bearings must be held on magnetic
center.

propulsion application. In this arrangement, the
element is attached to a pinion adapter plate and
the drum and drum hub are attached to a quill shaft.
A manifold is attached to the outboard end of the
element for bearing support of the quill shaft.
