Table 4-1: TB1, TB2, and TB3 interface connections
4.7.2 TB1 battery interface connections
To install wiring to connections:
1.
Verify the UPS system is turned off and all power sources are disconnected. See Chapter 7: “UPS
operating instructions” for shutdown instructions.
2.
Unfasten the front door latch and swing the door open (see Figure 4-2 on page 26).
3.
Remove the door. Remove the retaining screw located inside the door at the bottom hinge pivot
point, then lift the door off. Retain hardware for later use.
4.
If installing interface wiring through the left interface entry conduit landing, proceed to Step 5;
otherwise, proceed to Step 7.
5.
If not already accomplished, remove one top screw and two bottom screws securing the UPS left
front panel (see Figure 4-2 on page 26). Lift the panel straight up to remove from the panel hanger
bracket at the top of the cabinet.
6.
Remove the screws securing the protective cover panel and remove the panel. Retain the
hardware for later use.
7.
To gain access to terminal blocks TB1 and the interface entry plates, loosen the screws securing
the protective cover panel and remove the panel. This panel is to the right of the X-Slot
communication bay (see Figure 4-8 on page 35).
8.
To locate the appropriate terminals and review the wiring and termination requirements, see
Table 4-1 on page 38, and Figure 4-8 through Figure 4-11.
9.
Remove the UPS cabinet interface entry plates to drill or punch holes (see Figure 4-4 on page 30).
10. Reinstall the interface entry plates.
11. If battery cabinets are installed attached to the UPS cabinet, proceed to Step 12; if battery cabinets
are installed separated from the UPS cabinet or a rack-mounted battery system is being used,
proceed to Step 15.
12. Route the Shunt trip and Aux wiring harness supplied with the battery cabinet from the battery
cabinet to the UPS cabinet. Refer to the Eaton 9395 Integrated Battery Cabinet (Model IBC-L)
installation manual for battery cabinet wiring access information.
13. Connect the wiring to TB1 terminals.
14. Proceed to Step 19.
15. Route the Shunt trip and Aux wiring from the battery cabinet or battery system breaker to the UPS.
16. Connect the wiring to the TB1 terminals.
17. When all wiring is complete, reinstall the protective cover panel and secure with the cabinet
mounted screws.
18. Reinstall the front door removed in Step 3 and secure with retained hardware.
19. If wiring X-Slot connections, proceed to Section 4.7.3; otherwise, close the door and secure the
latch.
20. If removed, reinstall the protective cover panel removed in Step 6. Secure with the retained
hardware.
21. If removed, reinstall the left front panel removed in Step 5 and secure with the retained hardware.
