Using the “
Bracket Installation Guide” (template)
The
bracket installation guide
is a template of the arms in Full-Open and Full-Close
positions, measured between the arm mounting pin centres.
This is an easy way to determine the best position to drill your bracket mounting points and
take the guess work out of installation. You may need to change the bracket or design a
new one that best suits your automation application.
The
template
is simply 2 x card board strips with a screw joining the 2 together. Each arm
guide has a mark measured from the screw. The screw represents the position of the gate
post bracket pivot. The outer line marked on the
bracket guide
represents the position of
the gate bracket pivot.
Short template –
Arm fully retracted
Long template –
Arm fully extended LESS 10mm
It is important not have the arm installed at the maximum extended position due to the
need to create direct force against the gate stop in the centre of the driveway..
Note: The following installation is based on the gate being a “pull-to-open” setup.
For “push-to-open” setup you need to reverse the following instructions.
