Inserting Batteries
Four 1.5 V batteries of type C are required for battery mode.
1. Take off the battery compartment
cover on the bottom of the device:
Press the fastener on the battery
compartment cover and open up the
battery compartment cover.
2. Before inserting the batteries, check
whether the contacts in the battery
compartment (

) and on the batter-
ies are clean, and clean them if nec-
essary.
3. Insert four 1.5 V batteries, type C into the battery compartment.
Ensure the correct polarity (+ / –).
4. Insert the battery compartment cover and
fl
ip it shut until it can
be heard to engage in place.
Replace the batteries when the power of the device starts to wane.
PLEASE NOTE!
Always replace all batteries together. Do not use
batteries of different types or brands, or batteries with different ca-
pacities.

Do not connect the device to a computer because the high cur-
rents could damage the computer.
1. Place the device on a table or an-
other dry, even, and
fi
rm base.
2. Take the cover (

) off the device (pull
it upwards).
3. Pull the water tank (

) out of the
device.
4. Pull the lamella insert (

) out of
the device, immerse it in cold water,
shake off any excess water and then
reinsert it with the arrow markings
ahead into the device. The frame of
the lamella insert must face the air
outlet openings.
5. Unscrew the valve (

) from the wa-
ter tank,
fi
ll the water tank with cold
tap water and screw the valve
fi
rmly
back onto the water tank.
6. Insert the water tank into the device.
Make sure when you do this that the
valve
fi
ts correctly in the valve re-
ceptacle (

).
7. Once batteries have been inserted in the device, it is ready for
operation. For mains power mode, plug the Micro B connector
of the USB cable into the USB socket (

) of the device and the
A connector into the socket of a USB mains adapter (not sup-
plied with the device). Connect the mains adapter to an easily
accessible socket.
8. To switch on the device, slide the switch (

) to position
I
for
cooling level 1 or position
II
for the higher cooling level 2. When
the device is switched on, the operating lamp (
4
) is lit.
On the back of the device warm air is sucked in, cooled by the
water in the device and emitted again at the front (as cool air).
9. To switch off the device, slide the switch to the middle posi-
tion
0
. The operating lamp goes out.
10. If you are not using the device, pull the mains adapter out of the
plug socket and the USB cable out of the device.
Cleaning and Storage
• If necessary, wipe down the device with a slightly damp cloth.
• When not in use the device should be stored in a dry place
which is not accessible to children and animals.
Troubleshooting
If the device does not work properly, check whether you are able to
rectify the problem yourself. If the problem cannot be solved with
the steps that are listed, contact the customer service department.
Do not attempt to repair a defective
electrical device
yourself!
If the device does not work, check the following:
• In mains power mode:
–
Are the device, USB cable and mains adapter connected to
one another correctly?
–
Is the mains adapter inserted in the plug socket correctly?
–
Does the mains adapter correspond to the technical data of
the device?
–
Is the plug socket defective? Try another socket.
–
Check the fuse of the mains connection.
• In battery mode: Are no batteries inserted, or are the batteries
inserted incorrectly, or are they too weak?
• Is there water in the water tank (

) and is the lamella
insert (
11
) moist?
• Is the impeller (
10
) blocked?

Disposal

Batteries should not be disposed of in the normal household
waste. They should be removed prior to disposal of the de-
vice and disposed of separately from the device at suitable
collection points.
