CRIMPING AN
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
• If crimping tool is closed, squeeze handles
together until the ratchet releases or push
release lever forward to open.
• Strip end of wire to expose 3/16”-3/8”
[5-9mm]
(FIG 1)

• Place the appropriate wire gauge sized
Crimp Connector; Red (22-18 AWG), Blue
(16-14 AWG) or Yellow (12-10 AWG) into
the corresponding color notch of the Jaws.
Place slight pressure on handles to hold
terminal in place

• Insert difficult to reach wire into the terminal
fully
(FIG 3)
.
• Slowly apply pressure to the handles until
the ratcheting mechanism fully closes and
releases
(FIG 4)
.
• The crimp is now complete, remove crimped
wire and connector from the tool
(FIG 5)
.
• All crimps should be verified with a pull
test; grip the Crimp Connector in one hand
and the wire at the base of the connector in
the other hand. Pull with medium force, if
the wire begins to slip out of the connector
crimping pressure should be increased and
the connection should be redone with a new
connector.
