Installation of Stationary (Right) Catcher
Drop elevator blocks to their lowest limit of travel with elevator
down button on control panel. Place stationary catcher onto
table to the right of the spreader. Push catcher under
spreader until catcher (pinbar) engages folding blades. The
folding blades must slide and lock in place.
With catcher secure in slide assembly, drive spreader slowly
to right by pulling the (Red) main power button out, pressing
the (Green) control button and turning the hand throttle. Move
catcher until pinbar (catcher) is above end marker line.
Clamp catcher to table. Lift the pinbar out of the slide
assembly and slowly drive spreader out of catcher. Drive
spreader slowly back into the catcher, checking for proper
operation of catcher and folding blades. When final adjust-
ments are made and operation is satisfactory, drill 3/8" holes
in table top and bolt catcher into position. Adjust stop
bumpers to touch front and rear spreader frames and secure
with locknuts.
Set Program mode to Face to Face spreading mode.
Installation of Knifebox
Caution: Knifebox equipped with sharp knife.
Drop elevator blocks to their lowest limit with elevator down
button on control panel. Lift Knifebox onto table at the roll up
chute side of the
CR 500. Mount knifebox onto the elevator
blocks and secure with hardware provided. Connect knifebox
wiring harness into socket located on the bottom of the front
cover. Connect the roll up chute to the knifebox mounting
brackets.
Set Program mode to Face Up spreading mode.
Familiarization
Main Power Panel
1. Ready: Indicates spreader is programmed and ready for
operation in automatic mode.
2. Auto: Indicates spreader is in automatic mode.
3. Main Display: L.C.D. Display. Refer to display section
for detailed information.
4. Start: Press to begin automatic spreading operation
after programming is complete.
5. Stop: Press to stop machine when in automatic mode.
6. Set Direction: Press to set Machine spread direction.
7. End Speed: Press to enable end speed adjustment.
8. Speed: Press to adjust automatic spread speed.
9. Set Load Position: Press to set loading location of
machine on the spreading table..
10. Go To Load Position: Press to send machine to
loading position.
11. Ply Height: Press to adjust elevator height “step”
(distance elevator raises when spreading).
12. Feed Delay: Press to adjust cradle spread delay when
in Face to Face mode only. Cradle delays fabric feed
when in catchers to produce tension free and non-slack
spreading.
13. Manual Elevator Controls: Press to adjust elevator
height.
14. Edge Control In/Out: Press to move edge control
platform, “In” away from operator, “Out” toward operator.
The edge control reflector must be disengaged.
15. Keypad: Numeric keypad for programming.
16. Program: Press to begin programming.
17. Accel: Press to set fast/slow acceleration speed.
18. Select: Press to display program list.
19. Manual Override: Used to override program ends for
loading and adjusting spread lengths (Manual Operation
Only).
20. Mode: Press to change inches/centimeter. Press pro-
gram and mode to set spreading mode; Face-to-Face or
Face Up.
21. Length: Press to program spread length.
22. Count: Press to set counter.
23. Length/Position: Press to set end length position.
