6 Phone Configuration Features
This section describes configuration features available on Nortel IP phones with UNISTIM firmware and
Nortel digital phones.
6.1 External Autodial Button
This feature allows the user of a Nortel phone to configure a programmable button on their phone to dial
combination of digits, * and/or #. Typically, this feature is used to configure the programmable button as a
speed dial for an external telephone number. When the button is pressed, the configured characters are
automatically dialed.
6.1.1 Phones With Feature Key
While the phone is idle, press the
key and enter the feature code *1 (
- external autodial)

Press the programmable button you want to configure (please note that buttons with like appearances
cannot be changed using this feature)
Enter the string of characters (digits, * or #) that you want the button to send (auto-dial)
Press the
soft key to save the configuration of the button

6.1.2 Phones Without Feature Key
While the phone is idle, press the
key (the key with the globe on Nortel IP phones that use
Services
graphics)
Use the down arrow key to locate the
line

Invoke

6.2 Internal Autodial Button
This feature allows the user of a Nortel phone to configure a programmable button on their phone to dial an
internal extension. When the button is pressed, the configured extension is automatically dialed. If the
configured extension belongs to a Nortel phone, the button further provides the following functionality:
