or it vibrates
• Where the antenna may impede the passage of people or
vehicles
• Near a chimney or where the temperature becomes high
●
Do not conduct installation work when the weather is bad due to
strong wind, rain, snow, fog or other conditions. This can cause
injury resulting from the product falling or being toppled.
●
Do not conduct installation work when there are poor footholds
including an unstable position. This can cause injury resulting from
falling or slipping.
●
As electric currents flow through the coaxial cable that is
connected to the antenna, do not nick, bend forcefully, put
anything heavy on, or heat the coaxial cable. This can cause fire or
an electric shock.
●
Do not tamper with the interior of the antenna by opening the case
or disassembling the antenna. This can cause an electric shock or
injury. For inspection, adjustment or repair of the interior, contact a
retailer or a business that provides this service.
●
Do not stand on the antenna or installation devices or hang on

The followings indicate a potentially hazardous situation that could result in serious injury or death if the instructions are ignored and the
product is handled incorrectly as a result.
1
CAUTIONS
The followings indicate a potentially hazardous situation that could result in equipment damage or malfunction if the instructions are
ignored and the product is handled incorrectly as a result.
●
After a typhoon or snowfall, an anomaly may be found in the
antenna or installation devices or they may have been loosened. If
you leave them in this state, damage may be caused and that may
result in injury or a malfunction. For inspection, contact the retailer
that you purchased the antenna from or a business that provides
this service.
●
Do not hang your laundry or other items on the antenna or
installation devices. This can cause damage or injury resulting
from the product being toppled.
●
There may be restrictions on installation of an antenna if you live in
a condominium or apartment building. Make sure you ask your
management committee, management office, residents'
association or others about such restrictions before installing the
antenna.
●
Install the antenna in a location where no one can touch the
antenna elements. Failure to do so may cause injury such as an
injured eye resulting from being struck by an element tip.
Before Handling the Product
●
This product is intended for home use.
●
This antenna can only be used with an ATSC Receiver that has a smart antenna feature (that conforms to the EIA/CEA-909
standard) or a television with a built-in ATSC Receiver.
●
Read this instruction manual thoroughly before starting assembly or installation work.
●
Do not conduct installation work when the weather is bad due to strong wind, rain, snow or other conditions as it is dangerous.
●
Be sure not to drop, bump or apply unnecessary pressure on the antenna.
●
When installing the product in locations including a roof, wall or handrail of a balcony, make sure they are strong enough. Secure
the product firmly so that it can hold for a prolonged period even if there are strong winds due to a typhoon or other conditions.
Consider the safety and reliability of installation sufficiently to prevent the product from falling or being toppled.
●
Supply power after making sure all cables are completely connected.

●
To receive terrestrial digital broadcasts, airwaves must be over a certain level of strength. If the antenna is installed in locations where
airwaves are weak or the strength level of airwaves is lowered by obstacles in the surroundings that block airwaves or reflect them,
terrestrial digital broadcasts may not be received at all.
●
Install the antenna horizontally by using a strong mast (ø1.26" - ø1.69") in a location where the antenna does not impede people's daily
activities.
●
When the antenna is installed in a balcony, use mounting hardware (not included) compatible with a mast that has a 1.26" to 1.69" diameter.
●
Fasten the antenna firmly to a mast.
●
The reception direction of the antenna can be automatically selected from a scale of
360 degrees (in 16 phases) with the secured antenna controlled by signals from an
indoor Receiver. However, if the antenna is installed in a location where there is a
metal obstacle in the surroundings or where signals are blocked by obstacles such
as a building, a wall or a tree beside the antenna, selecting the reception direction
may have no effect and pictures may be distorted.
●
Install the antenna as high as possible so that obstacles will not hamper reception in
the direction that signals or airwaves are coming from.
●
When the antenna is installed on a roof or the ground, secure the mast firmly by
using a stay wire in three to four different directions.
●
Do not install the antenna by hanging it upside down from a ceiling, etc.

System Connection Diagram
Operating Antenna
1. Confirm that the cables are connected
according to the System Connection
Diagram, and then turn on the power
switch of ATSC Receiver.
2. Make adjustments by using the
“Antenna Setting” for the ATSC
Receiver. (See the instruction manual
included with the ATSC Receiver for
details.)
3. Reception of the antenna is
automatically adjusted to the best
setting by control signals from the
ATSC Receiver.
<NOTE>
Do not reverse connect the antenna
terminal and the TV (STB) terminal on the
Antenna Control Box. This can cause the
receiver to fail.
Caution:
• The antenna can normally be pointed in any direction during installation.
If fine-tuning is necessary, the antenna can be turned slightly until the best picture is received.
• Install the antenna using a strong mast in a location where people are not likely to come in contact with the antenna.
• Do not disassemble the product or modify it.
• When the antenna is connected with the Antenna Control Box, make sure that an RG-59 coaxial cable or greater (not included) is used.
Also make sure the coaxial cable between the Smart Antenna Unit and the Antenna Control Box is 150 ft long or less when wiring is carried
out.
<Note> No direction adjustment is required when this antenna is installed.

●
Do not connect any other device to the
coaxial cable between the Smart
Antenna Unit and the Antenna Control
Box as electric currents and control
signals are piggybacked on the coaxial
cable. Never short out the conductor
and the braided wire in the coaxial
cable. This can cause damage.
●
Turn on the power for the ATSC
Receiver after all devices are
connected.
●
This antenna is intended for use with
one ATSC Receiver or one TV (built-in
ATSC Receiver) only.
Do not connect the antenna to two or
more of these devices using a splitter,
etc.
●
