Starting the Generator
1. Perform the Pre-Operation Check (page 19-24.)
2. Confirm that no appliances are connected to your generator’s AC
receptacles
3. Turn the Fuel Valve to ON position
4. If the engine is cold, move the Choke Lever to on position as
shown by the arrow.
If the engine is warm, move the Choke Lever to the closed/off
position.
5. Start the Generator Engine:
(Refer to the engine owner’s manual for more details on starting
the engine)
Begin by turning on the engine switch
:
Push the switch to the “ON” position:
Pull the Starter Grip
gently until you feel slight resistance, then pull briskly.
Warning:
Avoid damaging the starter and its housing.
Don’t let the Starter Grip snap back into place.
Gently guide it back into position.
6. As the engine warms up, move the Choke Lever to Closed/Off
position as shown by the arrow:
For safety, do not operate your generator indoors or in partially enclosed areas.
The generator’s exhaust contains toxic carbon monoxide gas and can collect
rapidly in even partially enclosed areas such as a garage.
Breathing this poisonous gas can cause severe illness and even death.
