Important note for Windows 8.1 users:
Windows 8.1 has a bug which prevents it from
properly communicating with many Bluetooth
devices, including the XGPS10M. However, there
is a workaround. Details can be found at:
http://gps.dualav.com/faq/xgps150-150a-150e/
See the question entitled “Does the XGPS150
work with Surface Tablets or Windows 8?” for
instructions.
NOTE: these instructions were written using OS X
Yosemite (v10.10) and may be different if you are
using a different version of OS X.
• Make sure the mode switch on the XGPS10M
is in the
left
position, not the right position (for
more information, see
Setup
).
• Turn on the XGPS10M. The blue Bluetooth
status light on the XGPS10M will begin to blink
slowly.
• On the computer go to:
System Preferences -> Bluetooth
• Click the
+
icon to add a new device. The
Bluetooth setup assistant will open and begin
searching for Bluetooth devices. Wait a moment
for the computer to find the XGPS10M.
• After a few seconds, the name
XGPS10M-
xxxxxx
will appear in the list of devices. (Note:
the last 6 digits “
xxxxxx
” are part of the serial
number and will vary from device to device.)
• Select the XGPS10M and click
Continue
.
• The computer will take a few moments to com-
plete the pairing process. If you are requested
to enter a code during the process, use “0000”
or “1234”.
