In-Window Applications
Extra cooling considerations must be made when placing a display in a window. Heat from sunlight
can become trapped between the window and the LCD panel surface, causing what is known as a
greenhouse effect. To maintain the proper operating temperature behind the window, you may
consider using a cooling solution such as a cross flow fan or air conditioner, (See below example)
•
A gap of at least 10 cm (4”) is recommended between the window and the front of the LCD.
•
A gap less than 10 cm, or installations in direct sunlight, will require the use of a cross flow fan.
•
Both the area in front of the display and to the rear must be maintained between 0°C - 40°C
(32°F - 104°F).
•
Electrical lighting such as spotlights can raise the ambient temperature in the area and should be
accounted for.
•
The use of UV and/or IR films on the window may be used to help minimize heat entry. Consult
your local integrator for recommendations.
