GAUSS” will display on the screen. When pressing the button

“GO!”the screen will display “

R.P.M”and pressing a second time the word

CHRONO”.

GAUSS reading:

In order to enter the programme to read magnet gauss you must press the button “Go!” during two seconds
when the word “GAUSS” is displayed on the screen

S 0000     GAUSS

or

N 0000   GAUSS

The letters “S” and “N” correspond to the magnetic poles being measured.

The DS-Pocket Checker is now ready to receive information.

Place the Pocket Checker’s Gauss sensor touching the magnet/motor you
want to verify, and then move the device all around the magnetic influence
zone searching for the highest reading. The highest reading will remain on
the screen in order to memorise it if required, this data will disappear if the
Pocket Checker is moved away from the magnet/motor

R.P.M. reading:

Connect the R.P.M. reader sensor to the Pocket Checker.Pressing the button “Go!” for two seconds when
the screen shows the word “

7

R.P.M.” in order to enter the R.P.M. reading programme.

0.0      R.P.M.

Place the tip of the sensor 2 or 3mm away from the point at which we want to read the r.p.m.

In order that the sensor can take a reading, there must be a colour difference on the surface to be mea-
sured. We recommend reading on a black surface, for instance, tyres or crown gears…to do this you can
place a white sticker or paint a segment of it white (you can use the well known “Tippex” eraser) the white
section must be a quarter of the total diameter of the surface to be read.

(See photos 2 and 3)

.

Memorising R.P.M.:

Once you want to record the r.p.m.
displayed on the screen press the
“Go!” button for two seconds (until the
screen goes blank) and follow the
same directions as you did to memo-
rise GAUSS.
