2.
Remove cover and connect batteries to Transformer (fig 2). Batteries can be found in side pocket of chair.
3.
Plug into mains (fig 3). Your Drive Medical Lift & Recline Chair operates on standard household electric.
4.
Remove handset from side pocket.
5.
Before fitting backrest, recline the chair via the handset .
6.
Clip backrest onto base, ensuring both receivers lock into the brackets (fig 4).
Operation
To allow for sufficient room for the backrest to recline, the chair must be placed at least 46cm (18”) at the rear from a wall or
surrounding furniture. Your Lift-Recline Chair is operated by a hand control located on the right hand side of the chair.
The handset for the single motor chair has 2 buttons (fig 5). One will lower and recline the backrest and the other will raise
and incline the seat. The chair will only move when the selected button is continuously pressed. To stop in any position, simp-
ly release the button. To recline the chair, press the “down” button and hold, until the backrest is in the required position. To
raise the chair, press the “up” button and hold until the seat is in the raised position. The handset for the dual motor chair has
5 buttons.
The chairs are fitted with anti entrapment sensors around the underside of the chair (fig 6). If the sensors become damaged in
any way then the chair may cease to function. Should this occur, then the spare plug (fig 7), located in the battery bag, should
be fitted into the TSS port in the control box under the chair (fig 8). To do this the sensor plug from the cable hub should be
removed and the spare plug fitted in it’s place. This will allow the chair to be raised or lowered to the original start position.
This operation is intended as an emergency operation only and should not be repeated to continue the usage of the chair.
Should any damage to the sensors occur then the chair should be removed from use and advice sought from a Drive Medical
approved retailer.
