Eclipse Mattress with Digital Pump

Installation

Unpackaging

When unpacking the Eclipse System, check for any damage which may have occurred during transit.
If found to be damaged remove the system from use and contact Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare Ltd.

Setting up

1.

The Eclipse overlay system should be placed over an existing static mattress surface

NOTE:  A risk assessment should be carried out to ensure there is no risk of falling from the bed or

over the side rails due to the increase in height by adding the Eclipse system.

2.

Ensure the printed surface is placed facing upwards

3.

Place the mattress on the bed frame with the image of the feet on the cover placed at the foot

end of the bed

4.

Secure the mattress to the moveable platforms of the bed frame or existing mattress using the

straps on the base of the cover

5.

Hang the pump at the foot end of the bed; adjust the hangers to secure the pump against the

foot board to reduce vibration.  Avoid placing the pump on the floor

6.

Join the connectors on the mattress feed pipes to the side of the pump.  Ensure the CPR

connectors are engaged

NOTE:  Ensure the feed pipes on the mattress are not kinked or tucked under the mattress as this

will restrict airflow

7.

Plug the pump into the mains electrical outlet

NOTE:  Any extra power cord should be neatly arranged and off the floor to avoid any trips and any

damage to the cable

8.

Turn on the pump using the main switch found on the side of the pump and press the standby

button on the front of the pump

9.

The pumps low pressure indicator will remain lit until the mattress is inflated to the desired

pressure.  The pumps initial set up can take up to 30 minutes

10.

Adjust the pressure setting according to the patients weight

11.

Place a loosely fitted sheet over the mattress
