OPERATION & USE
CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS:
NOTE: Prior to connection ensure the parking
brake is applied and the vehicle is not in gear.
It is also good practice to secure the vehicle
with wheel chocks (Draper stock no.54500).
For vehicles fitted with an (older type) inertia
starter motor see Fig. 1. The solenoid can be
located on the inner wing or bulk head for the
majority of older vehicles. Refer to the vehicle
manufacturers handbook or Haynes manual.
Remove the wire on the solenoid from the
ignition switch and attach one clip of the
remote stater to the terminal. Attach the other
clip on to the large solenoid wire which comes
from the battery positive terminal. Do not
connect across any of the other terminals as
this will result in damage to the vehicle or the
remote starter. For vehicles fitted with a (newer
type) pre-engaged starter motor see Fig. 2.
This type has the solenoid mounted on the
starter motor body. Remove the thin wire on
the back of the solenoid and attach one clip
from the remote starter. Connect the other clip
directly to the battery positive terminal.
NOTE: Some vehicles have the battery located
in the boot or under the back seat. In this case
refer to the vehicle manufacturers handbook or
Haynes manual to find details and location of
the remote positive terminal under the bonnet.
CRANKING:
Disable the ignition system to prevent the
engine firing. For this procedure refer to the
vehicle manufacturers handbook or Haynes
manual for details. Switch on the ignition
switch and press the trigger on the remote
start in small bursts.
STARTING:
Switch on the ignition switch and press the
trigger on the remote start until the engine
fires. Do not press the trigger while the engine
is running. To stop the engine, turn the ignition
switch to the ‘off’ position.
NOTE: If there is no response, recheck the
connections. If the engine cranks but does not
fire, stop. Cranking the starter motor for long

periods (more than a few seconds) can
damage the starter motor.
NOTE: After all test are complete double check
on the vehicle all connections have been
reinstated correctly before starting the engine.
