5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Installing the Battery
This product is powered by 4 x LR44 batteries (supplied).
To install the batteries, remove the battery compartment
cover from the back of the device using a small PH-type
screwdriver and insert the batteries, observing the correct
polarity.
5.2 Powering On and Mode Selection
To switch on the device, press and release the SET/ON
button once. Pressing the button again illuminates the
display backlight for three seconds.
To select a mode, hold the SET/ON button for three
seconds until the mode symbol begins to flash. Press the
button again to switch between modes:
Wood measurement mode
Hardened materials measurement mode

Temperature measurement mode (Celsius)
°
F
Temperature measurement mode (Fahrenheit)
The chosen mode will activate after three seconds of
inactivity.
5.3 Taking a Measurement
In either temperature mode, the ambient temperature is
read automatically and displayed with the chosen units.
For wood or hardened materials measurements, press both
probes against the target material and apply pressure. The
moisture percentage is displayed after approximately one
second.
Important: The material type or the temperature of the
surface may affect the reading. Moisture levels may
change over time.
5.4 Other Display Symbols
The following symbols or readings may also appear on the
display:

5.5 Powering Off
The device switches off automatically under the following
conditions:
•
Wood and materials modes: Inactivity or no change
in reading for 15 seconds
•
Temperature modes: 15 seconds after mode
selection
•
Any mode: 15 seconds after the low battery icon
appears
6. Maintenance and Disposal
• Clean this device using a dry cloth
ONLY.
• Keep the sensors clean at all times.
• Store the product in a clean and dry location, out of
reach of children.
• Replace the probe cover after use and remove the
batteries before storing the product for extended
periods.

authorised agent.
At the end of its working life, dispose of the product
responsibly and in line with local regulations. Recycle
where possible.
